About Sarah + the Origin of Blood, Bone & Honey Higher Self Embodied Photo Ceremonies
The Blood, Bone and Honey Higher Self Embodiment Ceremonies are a manifestation of Sarah’s ever deepening romance, study, devotion and cultivated skillfulness with photography, art, branding, business, entrepreneurship, embodiment, leadership and spirituality.
These Co-Creative Experiences were birthed and inspired by Sarah’s lifetime(s) of training in the classical, somatic and healing arts, with a devotion to documentary style image making, the celebration of the Divine Feminine within each of us and the Art of Higher Self Embodiment that holds space for you to explore, express and Be all of who you are.
Sarah hold’s a Bachelor of Fine arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University where her photography, writing and film work has been collected into the Duke Documentary Archives.
Sarah has been professionally teaching, coaching, consulting and exhibiting nationally and internationally since 2015. Her photography journey began in 2009 when she picked up a film camera and took her first black and white photography class. Her love for photography inspired her to help build a darkroom at her high school, win a scholastics award and receive a scholarship to attend Savannah College of Art and Design where she in the running to be valedictorian, graduated Summa Cum Laude and was honored and sponsored with a post-graduate artist residency in Hong Kong to make photographs for SCADS Hong Kong Campus.
Sarah went on to be the studio manager for legendary documentary photographer Bruce Davidson, curating and producing international gallery shows, multimillion dollar museum acquisitions and managing and organizing a photo archive spanning 1950 to present day. (think negatives and prints of Marilyn Monroe, JFK and Martin Luther King Jr)
In 2019 she established Blood, Bone and Honey LLC and went full time in her business as a coach, artist, teacher, speaker, writer, mystic and guide.
Sarah’s early work focused on her love for wildness, truth, beauty, ritual, adornment and the sacredness of all bodies, the Divine Feminine and nature. As a classically trained ballerina, tap, jazz and modern dancer her main subjects and collaborators in her early photo days were other artists, creatives, innovators and visionaries she was in community with. 13 years later, she continues to carry this torch with a fierce and fiery passion, devotion and honor.

Why Upstate New York?
Sarah is currently based in the Fingerlakes region in Upstate, New York in a Cabin on the side of a mountain that functions as an epic natural light studio and provides a complementary photo ceremony location for no additional cost with access to miles of trails, meadows, farmland, and natural pools and waterfalls that feel like ancient temples (because they are) In short, the location options are vast, wild, heavenly, lush and nature soaked.
Sarah is happy to recommend places to stay, eat and explore in the area so that you can extend the ceremony beyond your photoshoot.
